Plymstock Veterinary Centre is a small-animal veterinary practice with limited service detail available from its website summary, so the clearest picture comes from client feedback. Reviews describe a practice that will sometimes fit patients in at short notice after admin issues (“lost” appointment later squeezed in right away) and that some pets are put at ease with treats at reception. The biggest decision point raised is cost and upselling: multiple reviewers describe prices as “extortionate” (including a quoted £70+ for two “five minute” procedures) and others mention feeling pressured to sign up for plans or extras, while other owners report strong support during serious illness.
Services are not listed in the website summary we have. From reviews, the following are explicitly mentioned
4.4 stars from 93 reviews. - Friendliness and pet handling: treats for pets are mentioned, and one vet (Nikolai) is singled out for gentle handling.
Note: Showing the 5 most recent Google reviews out of 93 we track in total. Recent reviews may not be representative of overall sentiment.

Prices are now extortionate. Two tiny dogs, simple five minute procedure each. £70+! Having increased roughly 50% in the last four months.

Always friendly, from reception through the the accounts department. I feel every member of the team cares for my pets and has supported me in managing the health and care of my pets. I what to move out of the area for a time and whilst an extra journey I kept my pets care with this veterinary practice. I’m glad I did as when my dog got really really sick during covid they were incredible.

Paid their pet plan, but to receive their services they want more money 🤷🏼♀️ Twice now I've been asked for money that I've paid for through the plan. Withholding products and services I've paid for is not putting the health of the dog first and it's disgusting behaviour. Vets4pets (I lived elsewhere) are better than this and they're supposed to be the worst, so goes to show you how money orientated this practice is.

They actually lost my first appointment, which was due to a clerical error by a new member of staff (we were all new on the job once!). They apologised when I arrived and squeezed me in right away, despite being very busy. The vet, Nikolai was fantastic. I’ve seen some heavy handed vets in the past. He was superb. I’m happy I brought my little fury friend to these guys.

Nice vet, but way too heavy on the sales pitch. It took them longer to try and get me to sign up for stuff, than for them to look at my dog. I found them more expensive than Elm, but this clinic was the only one that had an appointment free.
