It’s the VETS describes itself as an independent veterinary clinic with on‑site facilities geared to both routine care and more involved work, including a designated surgical theatre for emergency surgery, in‑house lab testing, and ultrasound/X‑ray. The practice also mentions separate cat and dog consulting rooms, and reviewers describe separate cat/dog waiting and checkout areas, plus practical touches like a lower counter for cat carriers and towels with calming spray for covering baskets.
From the latest reviews, owners often mention the team fitting in urgent cases quickly (including seeing an unregistered cat within an hour and squeezing in an “almost emergency” visit). However, there are also two recent 1‑star accounts describing a distressing euthanasia experience, including concerns about rushed communication, interruptions, and payment being requested during a goodbye.

Such an incredible vets, wasn’t registered with them and they got my cat seen too within an hour of calling and this was an evening appointment also. I was so worried about my cat and felt really anxious to take her but the vet and vet nurse did such an amazing job at making me and my cat feel extremely calm. I couldn’t thank everyone enough for their help, for something I felt so worried about they made it a great and calm experience.

Would absolutely urge with my whole heart to everyone to avoid this vet surgery. We had our precious boy go in for tests and scans as he had fallen ill very acutely , only to be told on the same day he was to be put to sleep. This was told to us with no evidence of the scans or the tests and the whole procedure felt very rushed. We were absolutely disgusted with the way this vets handled our poor boy as during when we said our final movements we were interrupted by a staff member with a card machine to ask us to pay for our boys cremation and sleep injection. This felt highly insensitive and could’ve been managed very differently , it felt like the surgery had a huge lack of empathy for how grief stricken me and my family were. Not only this, we were put in a small room to say goodbye to our boy which allowed us to hear staff members outside laughing away and whilst we were sat in this room with our boy for almost an hour waiting for the staff to procede with what needed to be done. We felt that in a situation like this where it is such a vulnerable and upsetting time, a more private and comforting room should’ve been provided. The procedure felt very rushed from the moment we took our dog in for tests to him being put to sleep and as a family we didn’t feel like the surgery gave us much time to process what was going on or what options we could’ve had with regards to how our boy’s ashes would return to us. On top of this the surgery did not return his belongings to us the whole time we were waiting for his ashes to come home to us which took a couple of weeks, and there was no communication of where his things were or when we would receive them. This was heartbreaking as all we wanted was to have every piece of him back with us. The whole situation was made worse when me and my family returned the next day to ask for evidence of the tests and scans to which we were showed scans dated back from 2000 that also was not named with our dog’s name - we were under the impression that this could’ve been any old scan from another dog as there was no proof it belonging to our boy. During this time we were rudely interrupted by the receptionist who stated there were other customers outside that had appointments and were waiting, implying that our visit was a big inconvenience for the surgery despite us feeling completely overwhelmed with grief and not fully knowing why we felt pushed into getting our precious boy put to sleep. This whole situation felt to us like the surgery had no empathy or compassion for our family or our beautiful boy and I would urge everyone to avoid this surgery at all cost so that you do not have to experience the disgust that we felt towards them in such a vulnerable and heartbreaking time.

A wonderful veterinary practice! (my first visit was today) They didn't really have any appointments but squeezed a very grateful cat owner in as abit of an emergency. Easy to find & park. Inside, I loved the separate cat/dog waiting and checkout areas. They even have a low section of desk to put the cat basket on whilst you pay, such a nice touch. These areas are clean, pleasent and even have towels to put over cat baskets with 'calming spray' to apply. The vet I saw today was amazing!! Friendly, caring, unrushed, and she looked after my Percy boy very well. Thankyou vet lady!! The bill was very reasonable and fair, I was happy to pay it. They also emailed me a clear breakdown of the bill shortly after I'd left which was clear and easy to understand. This practice is a credit to the owners and the staff that work within. Percy Anning...?? - 13-08-25(very old) Thank you Larrisa & Team, Percy enjoyed two extra summer's due to your expertise & care. Also, when Percy needed you to end his pain you were there for him. Simply from one human to another, thank you and my gratitude

I have had the most traumatic experience at this Vets…my dog had to be put to sleep yesterday and as we were saying goodbye to him as a family all in a state of shock as it was unexpected a member of staff entered the room with a card machine expecting payment before he had even been euthanised!!! I went back in today to talk through a few issues I’d had with a lovely locum vet called Sam who compassionately explained and showed me the finds from the day before when another member of staff burst into the room without knocking and pretty much reminded him that there were other people in the waiting room waiting to be seen. I’ve never known such rudeness and a lack of empathy for my grief, but then they’d had my money and my dog had been sent off for his cremation. I will never use this vets again and I certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anybody.

Terri, Jess and Larissa saved my dogs life. Ably supported by the rest of the team. From the initial vague phone call to Terri, my Ernie was rapidly brought in, triaged in moments and treated with phenomenal care and kindness. It takes an entire team to create such an incredible practice. I cannot thank you enough. Ernie is less grateful for the poor spa day, but at the grand old age of 14, he is very happy to live another day! Thank you so very much! Helen

I love visiting the vets, my cats don't so much 😆. Everyone at It's the Vets are wonderful, friendly and helpful. I won't go elsewhere. Their care and love for all animals shows through in their knowledge and handling.

We sadly had to say goodbye to our beautiful Dylan this week. Larissa and her team were wonderful and looked after our much loved Goldie, after explaining clearly that it would be the kindest thing for him. We very much appreciated the kindness and consideration we were shown.
