Vets4Pets Plymouth is a Vets4Pets-branded practice described on its website as a locally owned small-animal surgery, with an operating suite, in-house lab, X‑ray/ultrasound, and a dental suite. It also states separate cat and dog waiting areas/wards plus isolation facilities, and is listed as a veterinary nurse training facility.
From the latest reviews available to us, experiences are mixed: some owners describe pets being looked after successfully for operations and appreciate support during euthanasia, while others report problems with prescription handling and billing, including confusing admin communication, and concerns about the quality/consistency of clinical advice (e.g., worming choice; a brachycephalic dog breathing concern being dismissed as “that’s what they do”). One review also mentions a long wait for dental work.
Based on the clinic website summary and the available reviews, services and facilities mentioned include
Google rating: 4.1 stars from 272 reviews. “”

I have not had an issue with individual staff, they have all been friendly and given useful (but inconsistent) advice. However the way the practice conducts it's fees is unethical. I was made to pay excessively for scripts which was totally unnecessary. They quote vetenary GUIDELINES in their defense, and at no point acknowledged they are purposely skewing the guidelines to their benefit in order to rinse the customers of their money. As I said- unethical. There also seems to be incredibly poor communication between the requests put through regarding prescriptions, the vetenary team, and the admin staff. It took me a month to get a simple request through due to the amount of confusion within the practice, including phone calls from admin staff giving me misinformation and requests for money which were not correct. All this even though my initial request was concise and in writing. I'm currently actively looking for an alternative vetenary practice with better customer service and more ethical standards surrounding cost and billing.

I would give 0 stars if I could. The staff are rude, and the manager of this branch (who I believe is also a vet) lied to me on the phone. One of vets told me that the worming treatment given to my cat was effective, but a friend of mine who went to another vet from the same company with the same problem my cat had was told that a different worming treatment would be better. (cats are the same age and are sisters) In the end, my cat still has problems, while my friend’s pet has recovered. When I called back for answers, the manager outright lied to me and told me it would be best to find another vet. Luckily, the phone conversations are recorded, and I will be going through the proper channels to report them. Absolutely appalling service.

If you have a flat face breed dog DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. Brought my 10yo pup in because hes started breathing badly which is not like him (part chihuahua, breathes fine). Was told "thats what they do". They think I'd bring my dog in for something that he notmally does?! What an absolute pizz take. She was more interested in my neck tattoo and fussing him than actually looking into what i was telling her. She couldn't even read his notes properly, she thought he'd put 3kg on in 10 months instead of 10 years. Booked in for dental work (which is a 3 month wait) and actually thinking about going elsewhere after this and reading the reviews. I'm so stressed about the lack of help they shown whilst listening to him struggle to breathe (I'm 99% sure he's got an infection) i cant sleep. Do better v4p

A big thank you for the support you gave when our dear Poppy was put to sleep

I've spent an 1hr 20mins on the phone this morning from 9:00am to make an appointment. I was caller number 1 in the queue. The answer machine repeatedly told me that my call mattered. An hour into the call I decided to walk down to make an appointment in person.... an experiment to see whether I'd get there before they'd answer the call. Low and behold they were shut for Bank Holiday Friday. How much effort does it take to make sure your opening hours are accurately reflected on the web and answer machine?
